What is the title of your thesis, if it has one already? I much prefer J.D. Salinger to Stephan King. We all have our different tastes. 'Nine Sorties' is a fantastic book in my opinion. Just watch out for those bananafish. I promise not to stare at your feet.
Sorry, but my last sentence above may result from a Salinger story in a different collection of his short stories. I will have to do some research.
Yes, you're right, Salinger is completely different from King and I like them both, I 've chosen King because there aren't any theses in that topic while a lot was written about Salinger. I wanted something new:)
My thesis in English hasn't got a title yet. It certainly makes sense to choose King to do your theses on for the reason you gave. I don't think your examining committee won’t stand much of a chance when you defend your thesis. I would prefer to see an all female committee but a mixture of female and male would be OK for those who like mixed matches. Now THAT would be an interesting thesis defense – perhaps you could sell tickets!
